Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@nocontactcoach.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Q: What exactly is "no contact coaching"?

  • A: No contact coaching provides specialized support for individuals who are experiencing separation from relationships—whether you've chosen to establish distance from someone in your life or someone has cut contact with you. Our structured approach helps you process emotions, establish healthy boundaries, and develop clarity about your path forward.

Q: How is coaching different from therapy?

  • A: While therapy often focuses on deeper psychological patterns and past trauma, our coaching focuses on present circumstances and future-oriented strategies. We help you develop practical tools for navigating your specific situation. Many clients work with both a therapist and our coaches concurrently for comprehensive support.

Q: Do I need to be completely "no contact" to use your services?

  • A: No. We work with clients in various stages of relationship disconnection—from those considering establishing boundaries that may include limited contact to those in established long-term no-contact situations, as well as those in "low contact" arrangements.

Q: Is my information kept confidential?

  • A: Absolutely. We maintain strict confidentiality regarding all client information and sessions. Our privacy policy details how your information is protected and is available on our client portal.

Q: What kinds of relationship situations does NoContactCoach address?

A: Our coaching services support individuals navigating separation across a wide spectrum of relationships:

Family Relationships:

  • Parent-child estrangements (from either perspective)
  • Sibling separations
  • Extended family disconnections
  • In-law relationships
  • Blended family challenges

Romantic Relationships:

  • Breakups and divorces requiring clear boundaries
  • Ex-partner situations with complex ongoing factors
  • Co-parenting while maintaining personal boundaries
  • Relationship transitions where contact reduction is healthier

Friendships:

  • Long-term friendship dissolutions
  • Group friend dynamics where distance is needed
  • Toxic or unhealthy friendship patterns
  • Childhood friendships that have become problematic

Professional Relationships:

  • Former workplace connections requiring boundaries
  • Mentor/mentee relationships that have ended
  • Professional collaborations that need separation
  • Business partnerships that have dissolved

Other Significant Relationships:

  • Community or religious group separations
  • Long-term roommate or housemate situations
  • Relationships with former therapists or coaches
  • Neighbors or community members where boundaries are needed

We work with individuals who (1) initiated the no/low contact boundary and (2) those who are on the receiving end of someone else's no/low contact decision. Our approach is non-judgmental—we recognize that relationship separations occur for many valid reasons and focus on your emotional wellbeing and personal growth regardless of the circumstances.

While we specialize in addressing interpersonal relationship dynamics, our coaching is not suitable for active stalking situations, cases involving current legal restraining orders, or situations where immediate safety is at risk. In such cases, we recommend appropriate legal and safety resources before beginning coaching work.

Q: How do I know if no/low contact coaching is right for me?

  • A: We offer a complimentary 20-minute consultation to discuss your situation and determine if our approach aligns with your needs. This conversation helps you make an informed decision before any commitment.

Q: How quickly can I start the program?

  • A: After your initial consultation, you can typically begin your first assessment within 24-48 hours, with coaching sessions scheduled within one week, depending on availability.

Q: Is my information kept confidential?

  • A: Absolutely. We maintain strict confidentiality regarding all client information and sessions. Our privacy policy details how your information is protected and is available on our client portal.

Q: What happens in each phase of the program?

A: Each phase addresses different aspects of the no/low contact journey:

  • Phase 1 - focuses on understanding your situation and establishing emotional stability
  • Phase 2 - focuses on developing boundary skills and processing grief/loss
  • Phase 3 - focuses on creating clarity and preparing for your path forward

Q: Do I have to complete all three phases?

  • A: No. While the complete program offers the most comprehensive support, you can purchase subscriptions for Phase 1, Phase 2, or Phase 3 individually based on your specific needs and where you are in your journey.

Q: How long does each phase take to complete?

  • A: Each phase must be completed within 30 days of starting. The pace depends on how quickly you schedule your coaching sessions and complete assessments, but most clients complete one phase per month.

Q: Can I pause my program if needed?

  • A: Yes. You may pause your program for up to 90 days total. This flexibility accommodates life events or periods when you need to step back. Simply notify your coach to initiate a pause.

Q: How are coaching sessions conducted?

  • A: All coaching sessions are conducted virtually via our secure video platform. This allows us to serve clients regardless of geographic location while maintaining confidentiality.

Q: Are evening and weekend appointments available?

  • A: Yes. We understand many clients have demanding schedules, so we offer flexible appointment times, including evenings and weekends. These popular times do book quickly, so we recommend scheduling in advance.

Q: What technology do I need for sessions?

  • A: You'll need a reliable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone (computer, tablet, or smartphone). We'll provide simple instructions for accessing our secure platform prior to your first session.

Q: What activities are included in each phase?

A: Each phase includes:

  1. A comprehensive Perspectives Assessment™ specific to that phase
  2. Two 60-minute coaching sessions
  3. Customized exercises and resources through our client portal

Q: Must I complete the assessment before coaching begins?

  • A: Yes. The assessment for each phase must be completed before your first coaching session of that phase. This allows your coach to review your results and create a tailored approach for your sessions.

Q: Will I receive a personalized plan?

  • A: Absolutely. After your assessment and initial consultation in each phase, you'll receive a customized roadmap tailored to your personal goals and circumstances, outlining the focus areas and strategies for your journey through that phase.

Q: What are the subscription options available?

A: You can subscribe to:

  • Individual phases (Phase 1, 2, or 3)
  • Complete program (all three phases)

Q: What's included in my subscription?

A: Each phase subscription includes:

  • One comprehensive assessment
  • Two 60-minute coaching sessions
  • Access to additional resources
  • Email support between sessions
  • A personalized phase deliverable

Q: What is your refund policy?

A: We offer:

  • 75% refund if requested within the first week of starting a phase
  • 25% refund if requested within the second week of starting a phase
  • No refunds after the second week of a phase
  • No refunds on completed sessions or assessments

Q: Can you help me reconnect with someone who has cut contact?

  • A: Our primary focus is on your emotional wellbeing and personal growth during separation. While this work may create conditions that support potential reconciliation, we cannot guarantee reconnection outcomes.

Q: What are reunification sessions?

  • A: For clients considering rebuilding contact, we offer specialized reunification coaching. These sessions can only proceed with written agreement from all involved parties, as ethical practice requires consent from everyone participating.

Q: Will my coach reach out to the person I'm separated from?

  • A: No. We do not contact the other person in your no-contact situation unless explicitly requested as part of a mutually agreed reunification process. Your coaching relationship is confidential.
